Weekly Reading Update #4 – May 1, 2022
Welcome back to my weekly reading update! I don’t think anyone is going to be surprised when I tell you that my reading had been sporadic at best this week. Seriously, somehow this week was a total blur and I didn’t manage to do 90% of what I wanted. But we’re here to talk about books so without further ado, let’s get into the weekly reading update!
What I Read This Week
The only reason I have anything to report for this section this week is another The Martian reread. I listened to most of the audiobook while cleaning my apartment! So while my TBR is staggering and I am perpetually close to a mental breakdown about uni deadlines, at least my space is somewhat clean.
This remains one of my favourite books of all time and revisiting it is always delightful.
As I mentioned, my reading has been incredibly sporadic. It seems I either don’t read at all…or devour a book in a day. Right now, there’s apparently no in between. Unsurprisingly, I also failed my goal of establishing a bedtime reading routine. I guess I just have to embrace the chaos?
What I’m Currently Reading
There has been little movement with the books I was reading last week, but I’ve added some new ones to the bunch!
Unfortunately, I have made no progress with either Long Story Short or Pretty Dead Queens. Shame on me! My week has been weird and hazy and I didn’t have the mental energy to pick up my kindle. Let’s hope that changes next week!
Instead, I started two audiobooks! I’m a few chapters into both Queen of the Tiles and Daisy Jones and the Six and so far, both are great! Admittedly, I’m finding Daisy Jones a little hard to follow because I’m terrible at remembering who is who, but all the narrators are incredible!
The Week Ahead
Let’s take a look into our crystal balls and look into my reading future!
I really, really want to finish Long Story Short this week. I find that when books sit too long on my currently reading pile, I eventually forget why I was enjoying them and have to put them aside. I don’t want that to happen again! Honestly, I think all I need is a little bit of reading momentum.
Let’s Chat!
Thank you so much for joining me on this Weekly Reading Update! As much as I wish I was the kind of reader with a proper routine, maybe it’s time for me to simply embrace the chaos. Read nothing all week and then finish a book in a few hours? Read in sporadic moments on my phone? All options I am willing to embrace if it means I get to do what I love: read.
📚What have you been reading this week?
📚Do you reread books often?
I hope you have a lovely day,
If you like my work and would like to support me, you can buy me a coffee!

I’m a big audiobook fan and love stories told in interesting formats so I’m really loving the interview style and all the performances, the narrators are so good! I’m super hyped to see where the story goes because despite this being a bookish community classic, I don’t actually know much about the story! I hope you have a great reading month in May ✨
