How Audiobooks Saved My Year
Almost half of the books I read this year have been audiobooks. As I am writing this, of the 74 books I read 35 were ones I listened to. Here are the three ways in which audiobooks saved my year and why I’ll continue to listen to them. 1) It was comforting in a time of crisis Audiobooks helped me through 2020, I was generally anxious and unfocused and neither was helped by me spending 24/7 scrolling through my social media feed. I often didn’t feel like picking up a physical or even ebook. Having someone read to me was comforting. My mum used to read to me a lot…

Let’s try and reach that 80% feedback ratio, shall we? There’s four prompts:✨ your newest arc✨ your oldest arc✨ an arc you’re excited for✨ an arc you regret requesting I’m lucky: I only have four arcs to read right now and they fit the prompts! Mini Reviews #1 – Odessa and Narratives, Nerdfighters, and New Media
Welcome to the first-ever Mini Reviews post! Sometimes I read books and don’t have enough thoughts for a full review that I think would warrant its own blog post. Every once in a while, when there’s a couple of books I have read but never reviewed but still want to mention, I’ll wrap them up neatly in a post like this. It’s short and sweet but makes sure my thoughts land somewhere other than just the notes on…

Review: The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi
The Silvered Serpents is a story about longing. Longing for something more, a longing to be anything but who you are, to strip away the pain and loneliness and be something more. In many ways, this novel is an exploration of grief and love and how different people let themselves be guided by those emotions.

August Wrap-Up
Welcome to my August Wrap-Up! To avoid lamenting how the months just seem to keep vanishing (I think we all feel vaguely the same about this) I’ll just jump straight into a few nice things that happened in August. First of all, August is my birthday month! While at 22 I am no longer as excited about the day as I was as a child, it’s still nice to have cake. And some more cake. I also went to the cinema for the first time since February and man, I have missed it a lot! This month I had a lot of interesting conversations with friends and while it hasn’t…
