Review Policy

Thank you so much for considering sending me a book to review! Here’s what you should know beforehand:

I am currently working through my backlog of review requests to give each book the attention it deserves. If you would still like to send me a review request, please note that it will likely both take time for me to get back to you and that I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to review your book before publication or in a timely manner.

Books

I am accepting books in exchange for an honest and fair review. It can be ARCs (Advanced Reader’s Copy) or published novels in any format, ebooks, audiobooks, or physical copies. Please take note that I live in Germany so if you’re planning to send a physical copy, please send me an email first so I can provide my mailing information as needed.
I am a full-time student and my time is limited. Even though I am working hard, please understand that I have to be selective of the books I can read and review and not every review will go live immediately.

Genres I read

I read both YA and Adult fiction across a variety of genres but I particularly love YA Mysteries and Thrillers as well as Science-Fiction and anything with LGBTQIA+ representation!

Additionally, I love both fiction and non-fiction books about death, grief, and forensic science.

About reviews

My reviews are fair and based on my honest opinions. I’m only human so naturally, not every book is for me. I always do my best to be constructive and there are very few cases where I don’t find something to enjoy about a book. I like to include a note about the type of reader that might enjoy it more than me, but if your book wasn’t for me (1 -2 stars) I will most likely not write a review for it. If you send me a book you accept that my review might be (respectfully) negative. I understand that your book is close to your heart, but any possible negative reviews are not a personal attack against you so please be respectful of my opinion and space.

I reserve the right to choose the format of the review. This can either be a standalone review of your book, a spot in a multi-book mini-review or a more creative approach like a “5 Reasons to Read This Book” post.

What to include in your request

  • a summary of the book
  • release date (if it’s an ARC)
  • the time frame of when you expect the review to be online
  • an author bio and any links & graphics, if you would like those to be included in the review
  • any other information you want me to know

If you have any other questions or inquiries, feel free to send me an email at bookshelfsoliloquies@gmail.com.
