Introducing: The Martian March
One of my blogging goals for 2022 is to write more posts that bring me joy but sit untouched in my drafts because I’m worried they’re too silly. No more! 2022 is the year of writing posts for no other reason than that they’re fun to write. To honour this goal, I am embarking on a month-long journey inspired by one of my favourite books: The Martian. Welcome to my introductory post and hub for what I’m calling The Martian March, a blog series by yours truly. What is this project? What kind of content can you expect? Continue reading to find out!
What Is The Martian March?
In short, The Martian March is just me posting The Martian inspired content in the month of March! It’s really that simple. I keep rereading this book and scream about it on Twitter regularly, but I don’t really talk much about it on here. Seriously, I’ve never even written a review for it! So The Martian March is my way of giving all my silly little ideas a home and celebrating my love for this book.
What Content Can We Expect?
Put on your spacesuits and get ready for a journey! I have a lot of content ideas around The Martian. So many in fact, that I might be posting multiple times per week…or simply save some for next year and make this a regular occurrence! One of the posts might be a book tag! Because it occurred to me that I can simply create one. There might be an attempt at a “thoughts while reading” thing, a D&D themed post, an essay about rereading and more…
I am also open to suggestions! If you’re reading this and have an idea for The Martian themed posts you’d want to read from me, please let me know! Have you wondered who my favourite character is? If I have a favourite quote? What do I think of the movie adaptation? Ask away and I will answer.
What Happens to Your Usual Content?
Don’t worry, my usual reviews and creative posts aren’t going anywhere! There is still going to be at least one regular post a week! The Martian March is happening on top of regularly scheduled programming. Is this my way of procrastinating uni work yet again? Possibly.
This also means that there is a lot of content coming your way in March! To make finding all the Martian March posts, I’ll be updating this post continually with all the links as the posts go live throughout the month.

Some Closing Words
I’m so excited about this project! It’s been an idea on my mind for a while and I’m happy to finally make it a reality! I hope it brings you as much joy reading the posts as I have writing them. I can’t wait to dedicate this month to one of my all-time favourite books and celebrate it with you. Now, are you ready for a journey to Mars?
I hope you have a lovely day,
If you like my content and would like to support me, you can buy me a coffee!

OH MY GOSH, YES, I AM SO READY FOR MY JOURNEY TO MARS, LAY!! (Even if I’ll probably end up dying there 😂) This is such an amazing idea, and I’m already beyond excited to see all those post ideas of yours put into action! **starts dancing to disco music to let loose her enthusiasm**

I am SO here for this!!! Coincidentally, I have a real thing for watching reaction videos on youtube and just today, when I learned about your post series, I watched a couple watch the Martian movie for the first time. I do prefer the book, but it still seems fitting. Don’t know your thoughts on the movie, but maybe you could do a comparison? It seems like you already have more than enough content though and I’m so pumped for it. I love The Martian.

I love it! This sounds like such a fun idea, and I think it highlights an advantage of having a book blog: you can write all sort of posts dedicated to your favourite book 🙂

That’s so true! I think I haven’t let myself fully take advantage of that freedom so now I’m just going for it 😂

I love the idea of writing fun posts you just want to write! I could use more ideas for non-review posts, so I’m excited to draw some inspiration from what you come up. I’m behind on reading posts and looking forward to getting to your D&D themed one 🙂

I’ve had a pretty rough year so far and am constantly stressed about university final exams and stuff and writing these posts has been a huge source of joy so I’m so happy people seem to be enjoying them! 🥰
